Linoleum Cut Prints The Bluegrass Printmakers' Cooperative will teach students how to make linoleum cut prints! The process is know as relief printmaking. It is made by carving out areas of the linoleum to create the negative space in the image. Ink is rolled on top and can be printed by hand with a baren or spoon or a press. The workshop today will feature printing using a press and 5 x 7 cards. Students will learn how to transfer the image, draw the image onto the lino, carve the lino, ink the block and print it using the press making a black and white image. The Bluegrass Printmakers' Cooperative was established in 2005 and is a group of printmakers who print down in the Lower Level of Artsplace. We focus mainly on relief, monotype and etching. The mission of the BPC is to educate the public on printmaking through exhibitions, workshops and demonstrating printmaking in the community at local events and fairs.
