In the summer of 2023 I was chosen by submitting replacement panels at the VIA Creative Public Art Bus Shelter on the corner of Elm Tree Lane and Third Street and I was selected from an invitational call for site specific ideas and will soon be installed.
I submitted a series of five panels each depicting an African American individual with local historical significance especially to the east end neighborhood where the bus shelter is located. I designed the images and they were printed by AdColor a local lexington printing company and were installed around the end of August.
I was interviewed by Kate Savage of the Arts Throb Arts Connect podcast https://www.artsconnectlex.org/no-11-stephen-wiggins.html you can go to the link and check that out and you can look at the images of the panels. They are still installed in Lexington, Kentucky so you can check it out the next time you are in town.
