In 2022 I was chosen as a recipient by the Speedball Art Products to receive a fully paid Scholarship to attend the Southern Graphics Conference International in Madison Wisconsin. This is a printmaking focused annual conference which changes location each year. Hundreds if not thousands of printmakers attend from across the world. Without this scholarship I would not be able to attend the conference and present on a panel of peers on the topic of inclusive printmaking spaces with Becci Spruill @becciprints and Ruben Castillo @rubenbcastillo. Ashton Ludden @ashton_ludden attended the panel talk and invited me to the Pentaculum event at Arrowmont in Gaitlinburg Tennessee. Pentaculum is a invite-only residency focusing on 5, hence the penta part of pentaculum, disciplines of art, 2-d, sculpture, pottery, fibers and metalsmithing. In 2023 I was able to attend and for 5 days I stayed at Arrowmont and worked on various printing projects. I received the Visions scholarship which covered all my residency costs! Thanks to Ashton for having me be a part of Pentaculum!Â
In 2022 I received a full scholarship to take a Color Relief Woodcut class taught by Joseph Velasquez. It was covered by a scholarship I received and I was grateful for the opportunity! I learned a lot and was glad to use the skills and techniques taught in my personal art practice!Â
